In the 60’s the Dutch Railways (Nederlandse Spoorwegen) ordered a small number of 2 axle wagons for large and/or heavy loads from Krupp in Essen (D). Several are preserved. (http://www.nmld.nl/nl/object/1454 http://www.nmld.nl/nl/object/2321)
The drawing published by “Sleutel Spoor”(http://sleutelspoor.nl/projecten/intervervoer/) was very helpful to make this model.

1/15/2018 – added coupler pockets for horn/hook type Bachmann couplers. Use a track nail as pin through cover lid and coupler centering hole.

In 1986 the “Nederlandse Spoorwegen” (Dutch State Railways) started the refurbishment/reconstruction of “ballastwagons”.

At first this rolling stock was only used in the Netherlands by Nederlandse Spoorwegen.
After privitasation in 1998 the ownership changed to “RailPro”, later renamed to “Voestalpine Railpro”. This company uses them for delivering ballast to several rail-construction-projects thoughout Europe. (https://youtu.be/6CBdZdcGpmI)
